Prof. John Nolan
John Nolan is Associate Professor, joint appointment at the Departments of Biochemistry and Clinical Medicine at Trinity College, Dublin and Consultant Endocrinologist at St James’s Hospital Dublin.
He is a clinical investigator in the feild of diabetes and insulin resistance. He founded and runs the Metabolic Research Unit at St James’s Hospital (Trinity College, Dublin). His research is focused on the pathogenesis of insulin resistance, obesity and type 2 diabetes. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association, the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes and the Endocrine Society, and is a steering member of the European Group for the study of Insulin Resistance as well as past-President of the EU Chapter of the American College of Nutrition.
