Dr. David Kendall
David M. Kendall, MD

David M. Kendall, MD is Chief of Clinical Services and Medical Director at the International Diabetes Center in Minneapolis, MN and also serves as a Clinical Consultant in Endocrinology for the Park Nicollet Clinic.
Dr. Kendall holds an academic appointment as Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota and is active in a broad range of clinical research projects. He has authored over 70 original manuscripts, chapters and professional reviews. He currently serves as a clinical investigator for the landmark Diabetes Control and Complications Trial/Epidemiology of Diabetes Intervention and Complications (DCCT/EDIC) Trial and is a principle clinical investigator for the NHLBI sponsored Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD) Trial in Type 2 diabetes. Dr. Kendall serves on both the Glycemia and Morbidity & Mortality Subcommittees for ACCORD.
He remains active in clinical practice, with an emphasis on the treatment of diabetes, lipid disorders and cardiovascular disease risk reduction. Specific research interests include clinical studies focused on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular complications of diabetes and on studies of emerging treatments for diabetes, insulin resistance and the metabolic syndrome.
