Dr. Baiju R. Shah is a research fellow at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences in Toronto, and a clinical associate in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Sunnybrook and Women’s College Health Sciences Centre. He is also nearing completion of a PhD in clinical epidemiology at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Shah’s primary research focus is in health outcomes and health services research. His research interests are the effect of specialized care on diabetes quality of care, and diabetes quality of care, and diabetes care and outcomes for immigrant and aboriginal populations in Ontario. He is supported by a Clinician Scientist Award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and has held research funding from the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Physicians’ Services Incorporated Foundation. He was awarded the Canadian Research Award for Specialty Residents from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2003.
